Family Portret
Collective Exhibition at Fotografika Gallery/ St Petersburg, Russia
The family is undoubtedly one of the most important components of human life. But often we strive to idealize this concept, making only the “front side” of the family portrait visible. The exhibition presents personal projects of young authors, addressed to the theme of the family and touching on its various aspects. Stories about love, acceptance and forgiveness. About the connection of generations and the search for oneself. About memory and forgetting. About pain, trauma and loss. About violence. Many of the authors in their projects show the “reverse side” of the family portrait, which is not customary to talk about. But at the same time, all the stories are gathered together into a voluminous and multi-layered statement about the family, sincere and not leaving indifferent.
